Rodney & Diana Anniversary

Lasting Love
There is a point in every relationship when that tiny thought surfaces. "Do we have what it takes to make it?" In a time when it seems that every where we turn another relationship has ended, it is so refreshing, reassuring and inspirational to witness a lasting love.

My parents recently celebrated 33 years together!

June 11, 1977,
Rodney at 22 and Diana at 19 married in Wilton Manner Church, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Since then they have remained committed to their vows and each other for better or worse.

"They built and moved into that dream house where they have since seen a son and a daughter through college and marriage, seen a son off to Iraq, and currently cheer on the younger ones in basketball, baseball, dance and academics."

They have parented 7 children (4 boys and 3 girls) and lost a premature baby boy at 2 months old. They've bandaged many scraped knees and elbows and been to the ER for broken bones and stitches on multiple occasions. Sixteen years ago they started and successfully grew a business together. They have seen the savings account approach zero during the down seasons but stuck it out to a brighter day.

Simple Romance~Special Moments

They purchased 50+ acres with hopes to build mom's dream house one day and lived in dad's dream "shop" for 3 years (with all 6 kids) while waiting on that dream house... yes there was occasional tension. They built and moved into that dream house where they have since seen a son and a daughter through college and marriage, seen a son off to Iraq, and currently cheer on the younger ones in basketball, baseball, dance and academics. They have welcomed 4 grandchildren into the family and are an integral part of each of their lives.

"They have welcomed 4 grandchildren into the family and are an integral part of each of their lives."

If you were to ask how they've protected and maintained the covenant between them they would contribute it souly to their love and union in Christ and striving to keep themselves in line with the teachings of God's Word that has laid the foundation for a solid relationship. The promises in His Word alone has given them certainty in uncertain times and a common bond when common ground was difficult to find.

Living in my parent's house until I was 19 and maintaining a close relationship with them through the years, I have had the privilege of witnessing true love...and have taken notes. Not always glamorous and not everyday romantic, but true to withstand the test of time.

"The promises in His Word alone has given them certainty in uncertain times and a common bond when common ground was difficult to find."

" ....True to withstand the test of time."
